I'm moving my action over to the Etsy store. First up: ~THIS FUN!~

I'll spare you my full-on rant about WHY I'm ditching eBay again, when others have already done a great job of it.

Long story, short version:

I got the rate hike memo 30 days in advance of April 19, it took me half that time to gear up, and then I sold off all the heaviest stuff first, but I have felt stressed ever since. In any case, shipping isn't free, sometimes bad things happen to nice things enroute, and it is disingenuous of eBay (and its flawed, self-serving logic) to tell us we should eat it.

eBay has raised rates in many ways for many "reasons" over the years, but this new policy represents a fundamental shift in the way that it charges sellers to list. All of which is geared toward rising oil prices and shipping rates that only ever increase.

Of the various online stores I've run to supplement my income as a poor person, Etsy has been the fairest deal for small sellers overall.

But overall, I've been opting out for some time now. (Search the "eBay alternative" tab on this blog if you're curious; I'm too tired now to code the supporting links.)

Once I vote with my feet, my head and heart do follow. It's only doubt that slows one down. And life's too sweet to grow bitter.

Greetings, sports fans, welcome to MY LIFE ON SALE, the weekly update! And we are just getting started here! So now is a great time to subscribe to this blog and follow me on eBay -- here is my eBay page:

(LOL, who really gives a hoot, except for me and three friends ... still, these posts make for great l00t pr0n [that's "loot porn," to you non-leets]. So check me out!)

On this side of the screen, it's fun making sparks fly and then getting to post about it ... especially when the results are this gratifying. My Roland S-760 Expanded Rack Sampler with MU-1 mouse and OP-760-01 expansion memory unit installed ... so far, has 212 hits, 35 watchers, and 7 bids, closing tomorrow evening in American time zones!

Likewise, this Pioneer SX-9000 incredibly complete and retro '70s hi-fi stereo receiver, gorgeous! Someone is on hir way to getting an amazing steal on this one, since it has 162 hits, 17 watchers, and 3 bids, currently at just $2.25 + shipping, w00t! Roll Up the Truck, and Get It Outta Here!

(Seriously, someone here in Hawaii should grab this high-end receiver -- it's way cheap shipping within the Hawaiian Islands!)

Last but not least, I just launched this tasty relic, an amazing Teac 450 in mint condition, complete with all the extras, including the original service manual with schematics and parts list. Obviously there's a big following for wood paneled vintage 1970s tape decks, since this Teac cassette player already has 81 hits, 19 watchers, and 2 bids, up to $32.99 + shipping. Whoops, wow, it went up to $52.99, and 4 bids, just as I was typing this post!

OK, so now I've put up a few pre-recorded cassettes from the Sixties, Seventies, and Eighties in my Amazon storefront. Go an' GIT 'EM!

Trust me, no one's laughing harder than I am about this frantic sell-off. (See that "luxurious" blue cloth beneath the top-loading Teac A-450? That's my 20-year-old, cat-shredded bathrobe, turned inside out.)

It's powerful to make stuff disappear; try it!

Meanwhile, I'm working on a lot of surprises in the background here. And I promise to keep sharing my "eBay trade secrets," LOL, as my way of saying: thanks for tuning in!
